President Biden is raising tariffs on Chinese imports, including electric vehicles, semiconductors, and other goods. While speaking from the White House, Biden said the tariffs are meant to counter China's unfair trade practices. The increased tariffs will apply to about 18-billion worth dollars' worth of annual imports from China.        A group of TikTok content creators from eight states is suing the U.S. government over its efforts to ban the popular app. A law signed by President Biden last month calls for TikTok's China-based parent company ByteDance to sell the app or have it banned in the U.S. In the lawsuit, the creators call the law "unconstitutionally overbroad" and argue it violates the First Amendment rights of users. TikTok and ByteDance filed a separate lawsuit challenging the law last week.       The Trump defense team will continue their cross-examination of Michael Cohen when the former President's hush money trial resumes on Thursday. Trump is charged with criminally falsifying business records about payments Cohen made to an adult film star, allegedly on Trump's behalf, prior to the 2016 election.        The "Rust" crew member convicted in the deadly 2021 on-set shooting is filing an appeal. Hannah Gutierrez was the film set's armorer when Halyna Hutchins was shot and killed by a live round from a prop gun held by actor Alec Baldwin. She was convicted of involuntary manslaughter and sentenced to 18 months in prison in April.        Aldi is issuing a cream cheese recall due to potential salmonella. The Germany-based grocery chain is recalling eight-ounce portions of its Happy Farms Whipped Cream Cheese Spread, Chive & Onion Cream Cheese Spread, Cream Cheese Spread, and Strawberry Cream Cheese Spread products. The affected products were sold in Washington, DC and 28 states, and have various sell-by states between August 30 and September 15, 2024.        In NHL playoff news, the Bruins are living to see another day. Boston edged the Panthers 2-1 to stave off elimination in Game Five of their best-of-seven East second round series. Out west, the Oilers knotted up their series with the Canucks at two games apiece following a 3-2 win in Game Four from Rogers Place. The series heads back to Vancouver for Game Five on Thursday.
