Anthony Oliveira (age 34)

Pawtucket, RI

On April 12, 2024, the Providence County Grand Jury returned an indictment charging Anthony Oliveira with one count of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, resulting in serious bodily injury, one count of discharging a firearm while committing a crime of violence resulting in permanent incapacity, one count of possession of a large capacity feeding device, and one count of discharging a firearm within the compact part of the City of Pawtucket. 

 

The alleged acts occurred in the City of Pawtucket on or about February 1, 2023. The Pawtucket Police Department conducted the investigation.

 

The defendant is scheduled to be arraigned on April 18, 2024, in Providence County Superior Court.

 

Gino Rossi (age 28)

Woonsocket, RI

On April 12, 2024, the Providence County Grand Jury returned an indictment charging Gino Rossi with one count of first-degree domestic robbery, three counts of domestic assault with a dangerous weapon, one count of domestic strangulation, one count of simple domestic assault, one and one count of domestic kidnapping.

 

The alleged acts occurred in the City of Woonsocket on or about September 23, 2023. The Woonsocket Police Department conducted the investigation.

 

The defendant is scheduled to be arraigned on May 1, 2024, in Providence County Superior Court.

 

 

Jesus Martinez (age 22)

Providence, RI

On April 12, 2024, the Providence County Grand Jury returned an indictment charging Jesus Martinez with one count of first-degree robbery and one count of conspiracy.

 

The alleged acts occurred in the City of Providence on or about October 25, 2023. The Providence Police Department conducted the investigation.

 

The defendant is scheduled to be arraigned on May 1, 2024, in Providence County Superior Court.

 

Eduardo Mercado (age 25)

Providence, RI

On April 12, 2024, the Providence County Grand Jury returned an indictment charging Eduardo Mercado with one count of first-degree robbery, one count of conspiracy, and one count of possession of brass knuckles.

 

The alleged acts occurred in the City of Providence on or about October 25, 2023. The Providence Police Department conducted the investigation.

 

The defendant is scheduled to be arraigned on May 1, 2024, in Providence County Superior Court.

 

 

Steven Duarte (age 36)

Pawtucket, RI

On April 12, 2024, the Providence County Grand Jury returned an indictment charging Steven Duarte with two counts of first-degree robbery, seven counts of conspiracy, one count of assault with a dangerous weapon, one count of kidnapping, two counts of assault with a dangerous weapon resulting in serious bodily injury, and one count of assault of a person over 60 years of age.

 

The alleged acts occurred in the City of Pawtucket on or about January 14, 2024. The Pawtucket Police Department conducted the investigation.

 

The defendant is scheduled to be arraigned on May 1, 2024, in Providence County Superior Court.

 

Adam Dufault (age 35)

Pawtucket, RI

On April 12, 2024, the Providence County Grand Jury returned an indictment charging Steven Duarte with two counts of first-degree robbery, seven counts of conspiracy, one count of assault with a dangerous weapon, one count of kidnapping, two counts of assault with a dangerous weapon resulting in serious bodily injury, and one count of assault of a person over 60 years of age.

 

The alleged acts occurred in the City of Pawtucket on or about January 14, 2024. The Pawtucket Police Department conducted the investigation.

 

The defendant is scheduled to be arraigned on May 1, 2024, in Providence County Superior Court.

 

 

President Biden and Donald Trump are set to face off in general election debates scheduled for June and September. The two will participate in a CNN debate on June 27th in Atlanta, and a second debate hosted by ABC News on September 10th. Biden challenged Trump this morning on social media and Trump quickly accepted.       Flash flooding is threatening much of South this week, from East Texas to Mississippi. The Weather Prediction Center says another six inches of additional rainfall is expected in the saturated South, where recent downpours have caused rivers to overflow their banks in Texas and Louisiana. Forecasters say the worst flood threat will be Thursday, when more heavy rain will occur north of Houston, across central Louisiana and into western Mississippi.       A bridge in Galveston, Texas is damaged after a barge hit it this morning. The vessel hit the railroad side of the Pelican Island Causeway that connects Galveston to Pelican Island. It's the only way on and off the Island. A large piece of the bridge fell due to being hit by the barge, but officials say no injuries or rescues have been reported.        Alcohol is thought to be the cause of the Florida bus crash that killed eight migrant workers Tuesday. Bryan Maclean Howard was arrested yesterday after his pickup truck hit a bus northwest of Orlando. Eight onboard the bus died at the scene, and 37 were injured. Police said Howard is facing eight counts of DUI manslaughter.       The grandson of Jimmy Carter says that the former president might not have much time left. Jason Carter said that his grandfather is doing okay after being in hospice the past year, but that he is "coming to the end." Jimmy Carter is the oldest living president in history at age 99       The entire 2024 NFL regular season schedule releases tonight. Week One begins on Thursday, September 5th with the back-to-back defending Super Bowl champion Kansas Chiefs hosting the Baltimore Ravens in a rematch of the 2023 AFC Championship Game. Tom Brady will make his broadcasting debut in Cleveland when the Browns host the Dallas Cowboys in Week One.
