The Trump defense team will continue their cross-examination of Michael Cohen when the former President's hush money trial resumes on Thursday. Cohen said Trump directed him to pay Daniels 130-thousand dollars to keep her quiet about the 2006 encounter prior to the 2016 election.       Jury selection enters its third day in the corruption trial of Senator Bob Menendez. Yesterday, potential jurors learned that some of the people who might be called to testify against the New Jersey Democrat include Republican Senator Lindsey Graham and Democratic Senator Cory Booker. Senator Menendez is accused of taking bribes, including cash and gold bars, in exchange for helping three New Jersey businessmen.        President Biden is sharply raising tariffs on Chinese imports, including electric vehicles, semiconductors, and other goods. While speaking from the White House, Biden said the tariffs are meant to counter China's unfair trade practices. The increased tariffs will apply to about 18-billion worth dollars worth of annual imports from China.        Eighteen states are trying to block a federal agency from expanding legal protections for transgender workers. The Republican-led states filed a lawsuit Monday that would block new protections by the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, saying the agency "overstepped" when it issued the legal guidance. The new guidance says employers who call workers by the wrong pronouns could face claims of workplace harassment.       The WNBA's number one draft pick, Caitlin Clark, had an up-and-down debut Tuesday. The former Iowa superstar started slow in the Indiana Fever's 92-71 loss to the Connecticut Sun but finished with 20 points, three assists and two steals.        The former interpreter for baseball superstar Shohei Ohtani entered a not guilty plea to federal charges on Tuesday. Ippei [[ e-pay ]] Mizuhara struck a deal with prosecutors earlier this month, agreeing to plead guilty to one count of bank fraud and one count of subscribing to a false tax return. The charges stem from nearly 17-million dollars Mizuhara stole from Ohtani's bank account to cover gambling debts.
