The Supreme Court is hearing arguments related to transgender athlete bans. Justices are listening to two cases -- one out of Idaho, the other from West Virginia -- challenging whether states can ban transgender girls from participating in girls' and women's sports. The decisions on those cases will impact similar bans already enacted in about half of the U.S.     President Trump is on his way to Michigan to speak about how his administration is "making America affordable again." White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt says Trump will kick-off his visit with a stop at a Ford factory that's producing more F-150 trucks because of tariffs. After that, he's scheduled to address the Detroit Economic Club, highlighting economic successes, including lower mortgage rates and falling gas prices.     President Trump is canceling meetings with Iranian officials as anti-regime protests continue in the country. In a Truth Social post this morning, Trump told Iranians "help is on its way" and to "keep protesting." The U.S.-based Human Rights Activists News Agency has reported at least two-thousand people have died in the protests.     Consumer prices rose less than projected last month. The Labor Department reported the consumer price index showed the core CPI -- excluding food and energy -- rose two-tenths percent for December and two-point-six percent on a yearly basis. Meanwhile, the monthly figure for headline inflation put the annual rate at two-point-seven percent.     It's day two of nurses strike in New York City. Thousands of nurses at three private hospital systems continue to walk the picket lines after striking Monday morning. The nurses are demanding better pay, health benefits and working conditions.     A fourth teaser for "Avengers: Doomsday" has been released. It features Shuri played by Letitia Wright, who took over the mantle of Black Panther after the death of actor Chadwick Boseman.
